Full Job Description The Front Desk Team Leader travels between our two (2) Hillsborough county area locations weekly (3 days in Tampa and 2 days in Riverview) to coordinate and oversee the day-to-day activities of all Front Desk team members to ensure compassionate and positive experiences for patients and to establish effective, efficient, and consistent front office and patient scheduling operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates, assigns, and manages the activities of front desk employees in Tampa and Riverview.
• Communicates often with Practice Manager to ensure standards of service are being met in providing positive patient experiences.
• Builds a culture for the Front Desk by setting the proper example.
• Oversees daily collections process for copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance.
• Balances End of Day petty cash for each location.
• Provides daily overviews for front desk work schedules and communicates those plans accordingly so employees know what to expect during clinical rotations.
• Monitors daily tasks of front desk team members to ensure duties are completed properly, accurately, efficiently, and timely.
• Evaluates performance, monitors attendance, coaches subordinate staff, communicates new policies/procedures, counsels, and disciplines staff under supervision of the Practice Manager.
• Conducts new hire orientations, bi-weekly staff meetings, and pertinent training for front desk staff.
• Identifies, recommends, and initiates solutions to front desk related issues and problems.
• Assists in disciplinary action and terminations of subordinates in consultation with the HR Manager and Practice Manager.
• Exercises sound judgment and independent thinking while promoting positivity and collaboration.
• Performs other assignments as directed by Practice Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma
• Valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (MVR is reviewed as part of Background Check)
• Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in a medical setting required
• Intermediate medical terminology of the neck and spine
• Solid understanding of PIP Auto Claims, Workers Compensation, Letters of Protection, and related litigative processes
• Above average proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software including AllScripts and Phreesia
• A sound understanding of all pertinent Federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - a sincere "people person" who connects with all personalities and exudes reliable leadership to achieve desired goals
• Utilizes superior organizational and multitasking abilities while meeting deadlines and staying focused
• Analytical thinker who thrives in a constantly changing environment with a sense of urgency
• Ability to effectively understand, follow, and communicate oral and written instructions in English. Must read, write, and speak English fluently to ensure clear work-related communication and patient safety
