What you’ll be doing...
We are connecting businesses with their field teams and their fleet of cars in our cutting-edge Verizon Connect group—improving efficiency and enhancing service levels for our business customers. You’ll be managing strategic analysis with a focus on Macro Economic and Regulatory Strategic analysis that will ultimately drive the strategic direction of the Connect Business. You’ll bring together strategic analysis of our macro-economic and regulatory environment across geographic regions to inform strategic decision making. Verizon Connect is looking for a Macro Economic and Regulatory Strategic planner to join our Business Operations organization. Primary purpose of the Macro Economic and Regulatory Strategic planner is to support the Sr. Manager with strategic analysis. The Macro Economic and Regulatory Strategic planner will understand the operational objectives and corporate strategy and align them with the Macro economic and regulatory forecasts.
The Macro Economic and Regulatory Strategic planner will analyze the macro economic and regulatory environment and understand the implications for the business as a result. Develop a set of macroeconomic and regulatory assumptions that would inform the planning. Identity the trigger events that would signal a shift in the macroeconomic and regulatory outlook and may need an adjustment of the strategy
They need to understand what is happening in the economy that could affect the North Star? What actions need to be put in place to adjust our strategy? The functional 5yr business plan needs to be linked to the changing macro-economic environment. The assumptions of business growth will need to be revised in a changing environment. These will help the business leadership balance investment and resource decisions. The role is expected to support the business planning process and deliver strategic recommendations and track the progress of identified objectives.
You need to be a person who has a good understanding of macroeconomic trends and the regulatory complexity and its impact on business plans. You need to be a person who is comfortable with multiple aspects of a business, including product, operations, and strategy. They can paint a high resolution picture about what we want to accomplish over the coming years, and can shape the plan that gets us there.
• Develop timely, well-informed analysis of regulations (both existing and emerging) and macro-economic developments that impact the connect business and the technology sector in general.
• Anticipate likely changes and assess the strategic impact of changes on today and over next (a) 3-5 years and (b) 5-10 years.
• Identify the impact of changes in the external environment on strategy & determine potential courses of action.
• Align insights from multiple sources (e.g. internal legal teams, analyst reports, economic predictions and industry data) to tell a story at executive level
• Develop a set of macroeconomic and regulatory assumptions that would inform the planning.
• Identity the trigger events that would signal a shift in the macroeconomic and regulatory outlook and may need an adjustment of the strategy.
• Bring expertise and techniques (e.g., scenario planning, wargaming) designed to identify and make better decisions under uncertainty. Understand and quantify its impact across all business assumptions.
• Build and prepare all required documents and materials for executive-level communications.
• Create independent, fact-based anchors, including deriving targets from market growth and economic analysis.
• Provide forward-looking insights and propose recommendations.

You move fast and you don’t settle for the status quo, always on the hunt for the next big thing. Adept at multitasking, with great attention to detail. You are comfortable with multiple aspects of a business, including product, operations, and strategy. You can paint a high resolution picture about what we want to accomplish over the coming years, and can shape the plan that gets us there.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Managed large complex projects involving multiple work streams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of strategic frameworks and good research skills.
Even better if you have:
• Master’s degree.
• Economics/Business and/or Strategy background.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to assimilate a broad range of data, analyzing, and distinctly packaging the information to a variety of audiences, including executive management.
• Ability to understand the corporate business strategies and apply to the business.
