Summary:
The Extended Coverage/Night Dispatch staff manages all fleets and issues that occur during the night shift. They must be able to make good judgments without the benefit of others immediate counsel, and must be exceptional documenters. They must be able to perform their duties autonomously. The following Performance Expectations articulate specifically what is required of the Extended Coverage/Night Dispatch staff in the performance of their duties as business leaders:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Sole communications link to driver, including, but not limited to, load information, advances, purchase orders, maintenance coordination, performance counseling and dissemination of general company news and information.
2. Responsible for assigned dispatch:
including, but not limited to effective management for optimum performance in the following categories:
• On-time pickup and delivery performance
• Pallet management
• Out of route miles
• Hours of service compliance
• Driver availability
• Accommodation of special routing needs
• Cost control
3. Insure that each driver has an adequate understanding of all details of customer and company expectations on each
load at the point of dispatch.
4. Other duties as assigned by authorized personnel.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors Degree or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of TMW Database software, Microsoft Excel and Outlook knowledge.
