Everything we do in Jacobs Critical Mission Solutions (CMS) Line of Business/Advancing National Security (ANS) Business Unit – from building communication networks and testing next generation military systems to training intelligence specialist and supporting national security programs protecting the United States – is more than projects outlined in proposal requests. Due to the nature of this work, you will be required to obtain a Jacobs sponsored Top Secret security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
What you’ll be doing:
Intern involvements are determined based on business need and role availability with consideration to your skills and development goals.  As part of the Information Technology team, your assignments could include a role focused on:
• Agile
• Automation
• Architecture
• Cloud
• Cyber Security
• Data and Analytics
• And more…
What you’ll need:
• Currently working on completion of bachelor’s degree in related field (STEM Field)
• Team player who isn’t afraid to show initiative and solve problems
• Ability to be accountable and professional while maintaining effective interpersonal (written, verbal and presentation) skills.
• Interest in data analytics and exposure to MS Power BI is a nice to have!
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and demonstrate strong influencing and leadership skills
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
Preferred Experience and Skills:
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Basic knowledge/experience in Linux fundamentals and scripting
• Basic AWS and/or Azure experience
Essential Functions
Work Environment
• Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).
• Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
• Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, icy and windy climates.
Physical Requirements
• Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
Equipment and Machines
• General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance
• Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory.
• It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.
Other Essential Functions
• Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels.
• Candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
