What you’ll be doing...
The Verizon Corporate Information Security (CIS) organization securely enables the business by protecting assets and information across Verizon networks, infrastructure and applications. CIS integrates cybersecurity governance, policies, technologies and operations across Verizon, and works to incorporate security into the design of technology systems and services.
Verizon’s Platform Cloud Security Engineering team works to embrace cloud-based technologies across multiple providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle OCI, Google GCP) supporting differing service categories (e.g., IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
In this position, you will be expected to build Data Visualization, create automated solutions with Cloud Formation, Terra Form, Ansible, Jenkins and other DevOps tools. While effective and articulate communication is essential, being able to breathe life into those ideas with code is equally critical. You will be expected to Evolve and strengthen the DevSecOps discipline with “Security as a Code” to implement code-based preventive, detective, and reactive controls in the Public Cloud to ensure compliance to CPI-810 Policies.
• Provide technical leadership, solution design, and hands on development support to multiple security Epics. Be equally adept at planning, technical design, hands on development, and developer communications.
• Represent the Security Automation team with various stakeholders including App Development, Compliance, Legal, Cloud Engineering to gather requirements, negotiate acceptance of security controls, and influence stakeholders to adopt security controls.
• Engage with all levels of leadership to gather requirements, build appropriate cloud security technology roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Engage with Application Development teams to collect feedback and requirements and drive enhancements to code and automation. Guide the application teams as required to adopt the security code-based controls.
• Apply data analytics and build/maintain the operational and KPI leadership dashboards for all the 4 clouds using any BI tool such as Tableau / Qlik / Looker, Automate the data feeds for Auto-remediation, and daily monitoring audit logs, other SaaS product feeds into Postgres RDS DB.
• Perform several audit activities such as inactive users list by collaborating with multiple teams in reconciling the data from ActiveDirectory, Splunk, Ansible, and BigQuery for all 4 clouds.
• Maintain strong awareness of events in the external community to identify threats and opportunities for enhancement. Apply those learnings to design and implement solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to US and offshore teams.
• Lead Development of Automation activities for Detective and Reactive Control Areas such as Security Logging, Monitoring, and Remediation.

What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in coding (Python/Java/C#/C++/C), working with DB and SQL.
• Data visualization or UX experience.
Even better if you have:
• Experience in Information Security.
• Experience with any Public Cloud (AWS / Google / Azure / OCI).
• Experience with any BI (combines business analytics, data mining, data visualization, data tools and infrastructure, and best practices to help organizations to make more data-driven decisions) tools such as Tableau / Qlik / Looker, Postgres, SQL.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript (Essential) Ruby, Bash, and Go.
• Experience with AWS SDK and CLI.
• Experience with JSON/CloudFormation/Terraform, and Linux and Windows System Administration.
• Hands-on experience with Security Services in AWS such as IAM, KMS, VPC, Security Groups, and AWS Inspector.
• Experience in one or more of the following: Data Protection, Compliance Validation, Vulnerability Analysis, Network Security, Infrastructure Security, CICD Security, Identity and Access Management, Logging and Monitoring, Incident Response.
• Extensive knowledge with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, and Containers.
• Expertise with JIRA, Ruby, Server Spec, Jenkins, Ansible, Gitlab, and Confluence.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
• Willingness to mentor other offshore and onshore developers.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts and complexity to all types of audiences.
• The ability to comply with regulatory requirements.
