ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The USF Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, as part of USF Health and Tampa General Hospital, is this region's only academic medical center, provides a level of expertise that is unmatched in the Tampa Bay area. Our clinical team includes four pediatric and four adult board-certified endocrinologists, two adult endocrine advanced practice nurses, a clinical social worker, a mental health counselor, and five certified diabetes educators (three licensed dietitians and two registered nurses), three diabetes technology specialists, a triage registered nurse, two licensed practice nurses, and three medical assistants to meet the needs of our patients. In addition to our diabetes program our providers care for a full spectrum of hormone-related conditions including bone and calcium, thyroid, growth, adrenal, pubertal, menopausal, and transgender concerns that may lead to, short stature, early or late puberty, atypical sexual development. pituitary disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome and infertility, and adrenal disorders.
Our center is committed to diabetes and endocrine research. Our research team collaborates with academic and industry partners to advance therapies and technologies to better enable patients to manage their disease and to ultimately prevent and cure endocrine disorders.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position's primary responsibility will be to oversee, manage, and ensure quick support for databases that retrieve patient data from diabetes devices, ultrasound and imaging files, clinic hardware (computers, printers, A/V equipment) on all campuses on a daily basis. They will serve as a resource providing instruction and support directly to patients, providers and staff. They will maintain an initial ongoing training program for staff and patients with these technologies and databases. They will maintain written and video resources accessible to patients and staff alike. Will work to increase the number of patients utilizing uploading platforms from home and automatically when possible. Will maintain and ensure all campuses report daily refrigerator temperature monitoring compliance at all locations. Maintain and update clinic monitor messaging, clinic website, and clinic Facebook page. Serves as a clinic liaison for the IT department, USF communications, and outside vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provides training and support to patients, providers and staff with uploading technologies. Directly assists with uploading as needed.
• Oversees, manages, and troubleshoots the Downloading stations in clinic and remote sites. Ensures software updates are installed and equipment is maintained as needed. Tracks patient home participation with these programs.
• Maintains and problem-solves clinic AV, computers, printers, hardware updates etc. at all sites. Serves as point person to assists with endocrine imaging files.
• Manage social media, clinic monitors and messaging, and Diabetes Center website updates.
• Special Projects as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in office or administrative support or in research support.
• College education may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
PREFERRED:
• Bilingual (English, Spanish). Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
