DevOps Engineer
What You Will Be Doing:
As a DevOps Engineer I, you will develop and implement CI/CD principles as defined by our software development team’s processes, as well as facilitate optimal software development.  You will also continually review and modify these principles by verifying that support is optimal.  You will research and manage the CI/CD tools and platforms used to execute pipelines configurations and have an opportunity to determine if self-hosted/on-prem is optimal as our software development team’s requirements evolve.  You will develop and maintain pipeline configurations for software development teams, ensuring that they are properly defined and performing optimally.  Finally, you will get an opportunity to work with a diverse team and lead a team of engineers.
This role can sit out of our IT Center in Tampa, FL or our Corporate Offices in Reading, PA.
Penske Responsibilities:
• Be the primary contact and lead support associate for the CI/CD platforms, tools, and pipelines
• Be actively involved in the development, implementation, and review of CI/CD principles
• Play a critical role in supporting the application lifecycle based on detailed requirements and guidance from software development teams
• Collaborate with software development team’s technical leaders and infrastructure teams to acquire and understand pipeline requirements
• Manage CI/CD tools and platforms, determining if self-host / on-prem solutions are optimal
• Develop, maintain, test, analyze performance, troubleshoot / fix CI/CD platforms, tools and pipelines
• Effectively use automation to manage and deliver a CI/CD pipeline
• Produce deliverables with clean, well-documented and easily maintainable code that adheres to defined coding standards
• Triage CI/CD issues and work with multiple teams to perform problem analysis
• Assign and review tasks from junior and offshore Dev Ops engineers
• Influence the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are required (tools, conventions, and design patterns)
Penske Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent years of software development experience
• 5-7 years of experience in a Dev Ops / CI/CD role
• Experience in CI/CD Tools and automation
• Development experience in technologies such as script writing and Java
• Experience in build tools (Maven, Ant, Gradle)
• Experience in version control tools (Git, Subversion) and in Git-based Repository Hosting Services (Bitbucket, GitHub)
• Experience in CI/CD platform (Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Knowledge of artifact repository manager (Artifactory, Nexus)
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS)
• Knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of security / vulnerability tools (JTest, Sonar, X-Ray)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools, metrics, and dashboards
• Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Ability to research emerging Dev Ops / CI/CD frameworks and tools
• Ability to estimate and medium to large sized projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of full software development lifecycle
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
