Job Summary
UT Southwestern has an opening for the position of Anatomical Embalmer Assistant, Willed Body Program Admin
Works alongside Anatomical Embalmers, processing human remains, take WB Calls through intake process. Daily responsibilities include processing membership applications, tracking application status and returning donor property to families. Staff will make removals as needed. Hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., five days a week. Staff will not work on-call.
Education/Experience Required:
• Completion of two (2) years of college to include courses in biology, chemistry, or related subjects, graduation from accredited school of mortuary science with one (1) year related work experience.
Job Duties:
• Assists in embalming, dissection, storage, and disposal of cadavers used in teaching laboratories.
• Cleans prep-room, tanks, and laboratory.
• Picks up and transports donors to Willed Body Program from hospitals, nursing homes, medical examiner\'s offices, and residences; determines acceptance of deceased donors who are not enrolled in program.
• Meets and/or contacts next-of-kin to obtain additional needed information to complete first call sheet, death certificate cremation forms, and the report of death; answers any questions family may have.
• Assists in shipping of specimen(s) to outside institutions and preparation of prosected teaching material for university courses.
• **Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
