Full Job Description Job Title: QC Technician
Job Classification : Full Time
Reports To: Quality Control Manager
Job Overview: The QC Technician ensures quality standards are met in all raw materials, in process and finished products.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Calibration and documentation of laboratory equipment as needed prior to quality testing.
· Operate laboratory equipment used in quality testing including densitometer, turbidimeter, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, and refractometer.
· Ensure and document that product has met all liquid quality specifications including proof, color, brix, turbidity, and organoleptic properties prior to bottling.
· Inspect and evaluate incoming raw materials to ensure they meet Green River Spirits specifications and standards.
• Observe and document machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to established standards for labeling quality, closure integrity and fill volume and notify supervisor or line leader of defective product.
• Complete hourly case checks and inline spot checks of up to 4 bottling lines.
• Count and record finished and rejected bottled product.
• Document and fill appropriate paperwork regarding all quality checks.
• Ensure finished product is retained according to policy.
• Be able to set up and verify appropriate product lot coding to finished product.
• Be able to audit plant site cleaning and verify records.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma; minimum of 1 year experience in quality assurance preferred.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Beverage or food manufacturing production line experience including processing, bottling, canning, or pouch filling preferred.
· Data entry into database.
· Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motion tasks.
· Strong communication skills in providing timely information to bottling and quality supervisors regarding production issues.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office software with ability to enter data into Manufacturing or Quality Records.
· Laboratory of production line documentation experience preferred with ability to read and understand manufacturing directions and bills of materials.
· Mathematical skills to account of production, scrap, loss amounts and perform simple diagnostic calculations and unit conversions.
· Attention to detail, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
