PATIENT FINANCIAL SERVICES EDUCATOR Professional Non-Clinical Hours: M-F 8AM - 4:30PM Days - Full-time Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: OH 2013-72 - 40294A
Job Summary Responsible for the development and implementation of training and education courses for assigned areas in Patient Financial Services (PFS). # Job Responsibilities Develops training programs and education courses, including building proprietary Owensboro Health Patient Financial Services courses. Researches third party vendor offerings for revenue cycle training and education, solicits proposals for partnership, and makes vendor recommendations to management team. Attends revenue cycle related seminars, workshops, and events (e.g., Medicare MLN workshops, Medicaid Forums, HFMA Winter and Spring Institutes, Insurance Plan seminars, etc.). Responsible for team member training and education on hospital and professional billing, follow-up, cash posting, and customer service. Maintains and administers training program for billing specialists, including new team member training and continuing education. Oversees billing compliance program, payer updates and communications, and staff quality review and education program. Reviews Payer Newsletters and Updates and communicates information with team members throughout the revenue cycle. Performs quality reviews of billing specialists and provides strength, weakness, opportunity and threats (S.W.O.T.) analysis to management. Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire A minimum of 4 years# relevant experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Requires in-depth skills and knowledge of the specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in the area of specialization. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of the specialization as well as business needs to recommend appropriate action.
