ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The University Controller's Office is led by the Associate Vice President/Controller and has approximately 150 employees.  The UCO consists of Financial Reporting & Accounting (General Accounting, Financial Systems, Reporting, Research Ash Management, Asset Management); Payment Services (Accounts Payable, Travel); Purchasing Services (Purchasing, PCard, Central Receiving); Student Financial Services (Cashier's Office, Student Accounting & Customer Service, Accounts Receivable); Payroll and Tax Services and the Office of Supplier Diversity.  The UCO's mission is to safeguard institutional resources and provide accounting and operational support to the USF System while ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and regulatory financial guidelines.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The User Application Specialist for Travel is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the functionality of the business systems used for Travel transactions, for resolving all technical problems related to the systems and its processes, and acting as the liaison between the functional unit and the UCO Financial Systems, and Information Technology departments as necessary.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors and maintains all aspects of the Travel systems. Identifies and troubleshoots any issues that arise. Receives system related inquiries through the Travel Help Desk. Coordinates with UCO Financial systems and Information Technology and assists customers as needed. Updates set-up and table information in the Travel Module.
Coordinates Travel systems testing efforts during upgrades, updates and other projects. Advises Assistant Controller and Associate Controller regarding potential impact on USF business processes.
Creates reports for the Travel area when needed. Provides regularly scheduled reports to internal and external customers. Represents Travel in work-groups and completes special projects.
Sets up and manages Travel submission training. Conducts fiscal year end rollover and completes other related processes. Acts as back up to run Payment Services Pay Cycle, handle security and workflow requests, monitor and clear System Admin queue.
Performs other duties assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with six years of experience in related positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may be substituted at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree and three years of business or accounting experience, including travel reimbursement processing and system support or working in a complex accounting system.  Prior knowledge and experience with using PeopleSoft system and or Appian Software is preferred.
