Full Job Description Security Assistance and International Development Associate Researcher
Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification & Education
• Bachelor's degree in Evaluation Sciences or in International Development or a related field, such as Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration
Experience
• 2 years’ experience conducting Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation (AM&E) or social science research
• Experience researching International professional military education-related topics such as professional military education, DoD security cooperation efforts, and/or foreign military institution building
Job Purpose and Responsibilities
The overall objective of the program is to provide the U.S. Department of Defense with strategic evaluation services to support the Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation (AM&E) of Security Cooperation Programs.
The Associate Researcher would work directly for a senior researcher in developing a viable research methodology. This includes providing relevant technical expertise, supporting identification and execution of the appropriate agreed upon methodology, and conducting field work and research.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Evaluation Sciences or in International Development or a related field, such as Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration
• Knowledge of evaluation and social science research methods
• 2 years’ experience conducting AM&E or social science research
• Experience researching International professional military education-related topics such as professional military education, DoD security cooperation efforts, and/or foreign military institution building
• Valid U.S. Passport (ability to travel globally as required)
Preferred Requirements
• Master’s degree in Evaluation Sciences or in International Development or a related field, such as Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration.
• Defense Institute for Security Assistance Management (DISAM) Trained
• Familiarity with Security Cooperation Planning Tools (i.e. Global-Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G/TSCMIS)
• 5 years’ experience conducting AM&E or social science research
• Experience with NGB International Affairs/State Partnership Programs
• Experience with Professional Military Education programs
• Administrative experience
Security Clearance
An active Secret security clearance or eligibility for a Secret clearance is required.
Location
Remote work is planned.
Travel
National travel may be required (when possible) to conduct evaluations. Remote data collection may substitute for travel requirements if approved by the customer.
Work Status
This work is planned for approximately 30 hours per week.
