Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Summary:
This position is responsible for outbound (shipping function) and inbound (receiving function) material control and movement.
Shipping responsibilities include: verifying quantity, quality, labeling, truck loading of product and items of merchandise ready for shipment to the customer. This function includes daily cycle counts.
Receiving responsibilities include: Receiving, verifying and labeling materials as well as performing daily cycle counts. This function requires organization to ensure smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments.
Both responsibilities include entering data into the computer system and resolving discrepancies with material and/or paperwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Shipping Function-Customer Order Preparation
• Verify and compare items packed with customer’s order and other identifying data.
• Prepare customer orders for shipping, via common carrier and express carriers.
Shipping Function Package Preparation
• Counts, weighs, and examines packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
• Prepares shipments for transport by use of proper packaging.
• Ensures all shipments are secure for transport.
Shipping Department-Dock/Truck
• Coordinate staging of outgoing customer orders, parts, and commodities in the shipping area with the Logistics team.
Receiving Department- Dock/Truck/Material Management
• Unloads incoming materials, checks freight bill for container count and visually inspects freight for damage. Receive, check, count, mark, and distribute goods. Detail and report damages and shortages.
• Assure part number labels are on all parts
• Responsible for inspecting all trailers to insure the trailer is properly docked and the wheels are chocked before loading/unloading goods.
• Inspect all loading dock bridges and dock lighting systems.
Receiving Department- Purchase Order Receipt
• Check supplier packing list for quantity, purchase order, part number, and description.
• Process packing slips for data entry.
• Check validity of purchase order, i.e. non-zero prices on purchase orders. Once validated, input data from packing list into the ERP system.
• Assure part numbers are labeled on all parts
Receiving Department- Customer Returns
• Understanding and execution of PO receipts.
What You Need to Succeed
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude:
• Operate forklift and pallet truck.
• Math aptitude.
• Attention to detail.
• UPS/DHL/FedEx online Manifest system knowledge.
• 1-2 years’ experience in warehouse environment or equivalent
• Knowledge of ERP systems. (SAP experience preferred)
Prerequisites (Education, Experience):
• High school graduate or equivalency.
• 1-2 years’ experience in warehouse environment or equivalent
• Moderate lifting up to and including 75lbs.
Performance Measurement Criteria
• Timely receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received from suppliers and shipments to customers.
Allocation of Time:
• 95% Receiving function
• 5% Shipping function
