Nurse - Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility

Job Summary:
+ Monitor s , supervise s and provide s a safe and therapeutic environment for children and adolescents admitted to the residential program.
+ Provide s on-going physical and/or mental assessment and status, directs care and collaborates with treatment team to ensure a safe and therapeutic milieu.
+ Performs continuous physical and mental assessments followed by appropriate documentation.
+ Provides updates for documentation and revision of the individual's treatment plan.
+ Oversees the administration of routine and PRN medications, medication teaching, and assessment and documentation of the individual's response to treatment.
+ Monitors and/or supervises educational nursing groups at the scheduled time, ensuring that nursing groups are conducted weekly.
+ Provides emergency medical intervention when necessary. Responds to and assists with crisis situations and ensures that least restrictive measures are used.
+ Serves as a role model for the children and adolescents in work habits (professionalism, attendance, flexibility, initiative, work ethics and appearance). Demonstrates the concept of a team player in management of their care.
+ Completes all teaching responsibilities starting with admission and ending with discharge. Completes all forms appropriately and in a timely manner.
+ Attends all mandatory meetings and in-services when held.
+ Fosters collaborative working relationships among members of the leadership and management teams and programs
+ Participates in on-call rotation.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Valid Kentucky Nursing License (RN or LPN accepted)
+ Psychiatric experience preferred
+ Emotional stability to handle stressful situations including physically aggressive and verbally aggressive patients
+ Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
+ Psychiatric Mental Health Certification recommended
+ Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and Safe Crisis Management
