Job Summary Provides oversight, consultation, research, management, and education in relation to Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program. Serves as a patient advocate, liaison, and advisor/educator to assist patients with the continuum of care from detection of assault through acute care treatment. # Job Responsibilities # Serves as an expert consultant for team members in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional growth. # Develops, plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals. # Maintains awareness of current trends, practice changes, and research findings related to program. # Collaborates to define program benchmarks and goals, collects data, and drives process improvement as indicated. # Coordinates activities and projects to meet organizational and regulatory requirements; monitors local, state, and federal regulations. # Monitors progress toward goals and coordinates and facilitates regular meetings to review goals and outcomes. # Provides support, counseling, and expert guidance to patients and families to promote their ability to understand and meaningfully participate in the healthcare process and personal decision-making. # Rounds on and serves as a liaison between patient, clinical staff, physicians, and the community to maximize resources and resolve barriers to the plan of care. # Evaluates patient progress toward the plan of care post-discharge. # Provides care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. # Ensures adequate SANE nurses available to support the healthcare system by providing scheduling, training, and education. # Coordinates regional training courses, community education, marketing and events in accordance with system policies and procedures. # Maintains chain of custody for all evidence collection.# # Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. # Organizational Responsibilities # Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
