The Glenmore Distillery has been a fixture in the Owensboro Community since the late 1800s. During Prohibition, The Glenmore Distillery was fortunate enough to be one of four distilleries in the country allowed to operate on a limited scale for medicinal necessity.
In March of 2009 the Sazerac Company purchased the distillery and reprised the name The Glenmore Distillery . The distillery boasts one of the largest and most modern bottling facilities in the country and continues to be a sizable employer in the city of Owensboro, KY.

Job Description/Responsibilities
The Shipping Supervisor counts inventory coming into the warehouse and updates the ERP system; manages Customs Bonded receiving and withdrawal of imported cases; supervises shipping employees to ensure daily work schedule is met; manages export, military, and refund stock orders; works closely with the Louisville Export Order Manager and freight forwarders to schedule shipments; analyzes inventory for refund needs and ensures refund statements are applied; and checks and processes breakage.
• Ensure that transportation related activities are completed to ensure that customer orders ship out accurately and completely and that exceptions are either resolved in advance or properly communicated to the affected parties. Use the shipping schedule and sales forecasts to plan weekly and daily labor requirements and make sure everyone is properly trained. Manage the relationship with the outside service, logistics, and transportation providers. Ensure a timely delivery of sample requests. Oversee last minute schedule and order changes. Meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations.
• Develop and document SOPs and best practices to ensure highest standards for Shipping Department. Proactively generate ideas to improve the Shipping operation. Optimize available warehouse space to accommodate existing and new products. Manage and continuously improve the configuration of the warehouses. Maximize shipment throughput. Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for shipping processes. Implement logistics and supply chain best practices.
• Ensure inventory in assigned warehouses (on-site and off-site) is accurately accounted for. Investigate and fix inventory, receiving, and shipping errors. Ensure inventory is cycle counted. Oversee the employee cycle counts and adjustments. Oversee Customs Bond and Import receipts and ensure accurate reporting and filing.
• Learn about, master, and develop the Warehouse Management System software (WMS). Train others to use the WMS. Act as primary contact for employees’ questions and problems with the WMS, RF devices, and other inventory or system related questions.
• Leads the Shipping Department in a manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensures employees are treated fairly and with respect. Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Through personal example and direct management, create an environment that supports self-directed work teams and productive employee relations while maintaining compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Investigate and report accident and injuries in the work place. Assess and audit work areas and develop new processes to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Document and improve Shipping Department processes. Use the system to manage and update processes.
• Ensures adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Environmental Practices, distribution and logistics standards, and budgetary and regulatory guidelines, with a consistent focus on excellent customer service. Analyze and resolve problems relating to product quality, shipping errors or shipping delivery issues.
• Work closely with manager to improve work related skill which will lead to improved performance, benefiting professional growth as well as the company's success. Understand, follow, and enforce company work rules and policies while maintaining a positive work environment. Provide front-line supervision for and ensure consistent performance of direct reports while maintaining adherence to the collective bargaining agreements. Create a performance development plan to develop the skills and knowledge for myself and those of my direct reports.

Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Record of successful leadership
• Demonstrated success in the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)
• Supply Chain Experience
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree highly preferred
• Experience managing in a union environment
• Experience with System 21 ERP software
• Wine and spirits industry experience
• Experience with the tier distribution system
• Participation in CSCMP and/or ISM
