The Straz Center is seeking candidates to join our marketing team who have a passion for advancing the arts and embrace the Straz Center's mission and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers a team-based work environment and a full package of benefits for full-time staff including options for health/dental, vision, etc., plus a generous 403(b) plan.
This position works with the Director of Community Engagement and Audience Development and the group sales team with all aspects of group sales to research and foster new group sales from schools, senior groups, condominium/neighborhood associations, private groups, churches, scouts, companies, civic organizations, charitable organizations, social organizations, and recreation centers. This position develops new customer leads while retaining the current customer base through quality services support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures the timely arrival and input of deposits, final payments, and settlements for all group sales events.
• Supports departmental needs.
• Processes and posts group and field trip monies received.
• Organizes and maintains files necessary to operate the Group Sales office efficiently.
• Researches, prospects, qualifies and closes group and corporate ticket sales opportunities through cold-calling, networking, and face-to-face appointments.
• Ensures groups are provided the best experience possible.
• Plans and executes events that welcome new prospects and promotes diversity at the Center. May speak at specific group luncheons and/or meetings to promote Straz events.
• Ensures accurate and complete information is captured in the customer relationship management system (CRMS) Tessitura.
• Supervises ticket donation requests from area organizations. When appropriate, issues complimentary tickets following Straz procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
• Ability to work with a schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays.
• Must be willing and available to work on-site.
• Highly proficient computer skills including email, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of sales process techniques, measurement, and analytics.
• Solid understanding of customer and market dynamics.
Education and Work Experience:
• Minimum of 1-2 years of sales experience.
• Minimum High School diploma college degree preferred.
• Experience with Tessitura and T-Stats preferred.
