Minimum Qualifications Summary

• Master's in business or Contracting preferred

• 10 years or more experience in Federal Government contracting
Job Objective
The position of Director of Contracts has responsibility for managing all federal contracts for a growing company. The Director will represent the company to Government officials including Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer's Representatives, Program Managers, and others. The Director provides the leadership, methodologies, procedures, tools, and advice to support all contract management efforts. The Director provides contractual and business advice to the company CEO, President, and program managers. With responsibility across multiple, concurrent projects, this position is characterized by shifting priorities, stringent deadlines, and sometimes last-minute requirements within client deadlines. The objective of this position is to provide hands-on support to manage simple to complex contracts.
Responsibilities
• Reviews complex solicitations and prepares a specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals and contract modifications
• Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures and communicates results to the appropriate part of the company
• Draft and revise a variety of contracts with customers
• Ensure the organization's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained
• Interact/meet with customers to discuss both legal and business matters
• Provide advice and guidance to the different teams relating to contract management
• Maintain excellent working relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met
• Create, prepare, review, and edit all contracts
• Provide support and advice on new potential businesses opportunities
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and devise plans to implement these changes
• Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards, and cost targets.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies that minimize potential losses and benefit the organization's financial performance.
• Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues.
• Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution in the contract.
• Review, negotiate, sign and file non-disclosure agreements
• Review, negotiate, sign and file teaming agreements
• Negotiate with the Government
• Manage all contracts with the Government
• Negotiate with subcontractors
• Manage subcontracts with subcontractors
• Manage the Subcontracts Administrator
• Provide guidance on all subcontract management and administrative matters
Minimum Job Requirements/Technical Requirements
• 10 years working in government contracting
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of contracting terminology
• Experience and knowledge of various contract types including fixed price, cost plus fixed fee, time and materials, labor hour, incentive-type, and others.
• Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
• Exemplify a strong attention to detail
• Possesses superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines
• Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office
• Previous experience working with Government contract regulations and the related laws
• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
• Capable of professionally managing confidential information
• Exemplify creative problem-solving abilities
• A background in federal government source selection is highly desired to provide recommendations during the proposal production process.
Education & Certification
• Bachelor's in Business, Management, or other related fields
• Master's in Business or Contracting preferred
Work Location
Tampa, FL. Primarily remote work is possible, but living within driving distance of Tampa, FL is desired to facilitate in-person collaboration when needed.
