POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The incumbent lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, maintains and repairs piping systems, plumbing systems, sheet metal products, and related equipment for assigned projects. S/he manages field labor crews with varying levels of experience, and executes production, safety, and quality goals.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Keeps records of assignments and produces detailed work reports.
• Directs workers engaged in piping and pre-installation of plumbing systems and components.
• Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced tradespeople.
• Loads and unloads trucks of material to be staged and installed throughout the jobsite.
• Inspects and ensures the availability of all tools and materials needed to complete a given project.
• Directs the work of craft labor engaged in cutting, pre-assembly, and installation of HVAC components, and the building on, or modification of, existing systems.
• Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine work sequence in a safe procedures.
• Studies building plans and inspects structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish the sequence of installations, and plan installations around obstructions such as wiring, plumbing, etc.
• Completes all AHA's and daily huddles, and pre-plans work to ensure safety, productivity, and quality.
• Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and solutions or escalates them appropriately.
• Ensures all prints/specs are shared with the fabrication shop, so that production forecasts can be met.
• Works with Project Management staff to develop 3-week look ahead schedules, utilizing data that has been loaded into CAD or BIM, in order to provide clash detection for all sheet metal operations.
• Manages employee schedules, and ensures all time is recorded and reported via the channels.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• This position operates primarily in the field, working on new and remodeling projects, often at great heights and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Jobsite work is likely to entail varying exposure to potentially harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, dangerous machinery, and/or other conditions typically associated with a live construction site.
• Depending on the work location, the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, poor ventilation/lighting, and other hazards or conditions typically associated with a construction job site.

TRAVEL:
• This position may require up to 15% travel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation from high school or vocational school.
• 2-4 years of mechanical contracting experience.
• Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.
• Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships.
• Must be fluent and able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Valid Driver's License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Rigging and Signaling Certification.
• Forklift Certification.
• Aerial and Scissor Lift Certification.
• Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training.
• Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
