Job Description
Forklift Operator
Department:
Reports to: Dock/shipping Supervisor
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
Key Job Responsibilities: • Drive and operate forklift - must be experienced and certified in forklift for this position
• Drive and operate turret truck
• Read production schedule and store shipping orders or requisitions to determine products to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Operates forklift and pallet jack safely and efficiently.
• Loads trucks with equipment and by hand, which vary in weight up to 50 pounds per case.
• Reports shipping problems or concerns to Supervisor or Lead Person immediately
• Open cases, boxes, and containers of products from a designated storage location in the distribution center.
• Pick and conveys product accurately from storage locations to conveyor or another specified area in the distribution center.
• Participate in cycle count by physically scanning products in line to ensure accurate counts for all store orders.
• Account for any damages that occurred during shift and cleaning any spills or breakages associated with the damaged merchandise or product.
• Set up and clean to prepare for the next workday, including folding new boxes and sweeping/picking up assigned work areas.
• Any other shipping and receiving requirements and standards that may apply
