We are currently looking for a#Licensed Practical Nurse#for our#Covid Testing/Blood Draw#Unit. This 10 chair Unit provides care for#Moffitt Cancer Center patients and staff that need to receive a Covid Test or blood draw. It is open#Monday through Friday 7:00am-5:00pm. Patients are referred by their primary providers, clinics and treatment areas. The staff consists of four Registered Nurses. The#Covid Testing/Blood Draw Unit#staff must possess good iv skills and able to access infusion ports,#and have experience in blood draw#and#knowledgeable about#the#complications and side effects of these treatments. Position Highlights: The Licensed Practical nurse (LPN) provides care to patients, and in accordance with established Cancer Center guidelines, nursing care standards, and Moffitt Clinic Policy and Procedures. Under the strict supervision of a Registered Nurse coordinates and provides and documents direct patient care in accordance with established standards # internal and external regulatory guidelines License Practical Nurses embody the vision, mission, and philosophy of Moffitt Nursing and are committed to and accountable for personalized patient and family centered care and the concepts of Duffy#s quality caring model/caring factors. These frameworks of care include: collaboration and mutual problem solving, dignity and human respect, encouraging manner, attentive reassurance, appreciation of unique meaning, healing environment, basic human needs, information sharing, caring for self, and affiliation needs. # License Practical Nurses use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care. Biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs are addressed in all steps of the nursing process. This is demonstrated in base-line and comparative documentation, entered in a timely manner, and with evidence of age-appropriate consideration when care is planned, delivered, and evaluated. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 2 years of inpatient hospital experience Good blood drawing and IV insertion skills Experience accessing indwelling ports # Responsibilities # Provides Vaccinations to patients Under the direction of the RN or provider collects and records relevant medical information (data) including patient needs, symptoms, vital signs and current medications. Communicates patient data to RN or other appropriate members of the healthcare team. Uses information collected from patient to problem solve according to defined scope and established policies and procedures. Documents clearly and concisely and completes charges (Real Time) in the permanent record Collects ordered laboratory specimens in accordance with established Moffitt Policies and Standards Initiates initial peripheral IV access for patients in accordance with established protocols, policies, and standards. # Credentials and Qualifications: State of Florida LPN License is required # BCLS Certification We are currently looking for a#Licensed Practical Nurse#for our#Covid Testing/Blood Draw#Unit.
