Full Job Description About Company
Mathnasium is a math only-learning center that offers both math help and enrichment to students in grades 2-12. Each student in our program receives a customized learning plan based on our proprietary teaching material. We offer part-time jobs in the Carrollwood area with flexible scheduling and ongoing training opportunities.
Position Overview:
Instructor candidates should have excellent math and interpersonal skills. Candidates should possess curriculum knowledge to provide effective and concise math instruction to students of grades 1 to 12, while using the Mathnasium Method. Contribute to the creation of an engaging and productive learning environment. Participate in positive interactions with parents and establish a high level of confidence and program value. The Learning Center Instructor is also responsible for assisting in evaluating and tracking the progress of each student and to maintain and foster effective communication with the Center Director and staff.
Required Qualifications:
Exceptional math skills counting through Algebra I and GeometryExcellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ability to professionally interact with students and parents. Energetic and confident personality
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in math, education, or related field Ability to teach students in elementary to upper level high school math courses. Previous teaching experience or other experience working with students. Our learning center environment is supportive and encouraging. Applicants should love teaching and be able to motivate students to success.
Hours may vary, but could include mid-afternoon through early evening hours, Monday –Thursday and Sunday afternoons, approximately 8-20 hours per week (flexible).
Please note that we do not offer seasonal -short term employment - the ideal instructor would work through the summer as well as the new school year.
