Overview
The Project Coordinator will support a team with assigned projects with correspondence, various administration tasks, tracking project deliverables, dates, and monitoring deadlines; provides regular and timely reports. Applicants must be familiar with common industry standards associated with utility owners, who may own infrastructure placed within City, County and/or DOT owner Right-of-Ways.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other
Potential candidates must have a minimum of five years drafting and/or design experience with aerial, buried and underground telecommunication design. Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation preferred.
• Candidates must also have experience working on/with civil design specific to utility relocation, including proposing the relocation of aerial, buried, underground cable design and path creation
• Well-rounded knowledge of COAX cable, copper cable, fiber-optic cable, conduit, manhole & handhole design, and aerial is preferred
• Previous experience designing long-haul fiber design for hundreds of miles is a plus
• Potential applicant will be responsible for meeting daily/weekly deadlines due to customer commitments
• Applicant must also be able to manage the workload for internal and/or external clients with minimal assistance from Sr. Designer/s
• The ability to take direction and instructions is critical to this position
• The duties of this position will be to work directly with external clients and/or internal utility designers regarding proposed telecommunications design within the right-of-way
• Applicants must be dependable, able to schedule daily/weekly tasks, and coordinate work to be completed on projects within the time allotted by the customer(s)
Qualified applicants must also be able to work overtime as necessary
Responsibilities Include
• Update necessary tracking system(s) to ensure that project and/or program status is maintained with complete accuracy, including third party management systems.
• Creates and distributes correspondence relevant to the team, project, or program (internal and external).
• Assists with administrative preparation for various meetings.
• Communicates all issues to management prior to reaching critical status.
• Develops and maintains accurate and complete files for projects and programs; continues to monitor for integrity and completeness.
• Provides reports as requested
• Provides additional administrative support as required.
• Issue vendor POs, as needed.
• Various Office management functions such as supply ordering, package shipment, event coordination, office vendor coordination and payment.
• Ability to convey project details accurately in both verbal and written format.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
• 2-4 years in a general business environment with project coordination and/or
Administration experience
• Preference of applicant working with or for (as a consultant) a telecommunication company
• Prefer an applicant who is familiar with the permitting requirements associated with City, County, and/or DOT Right-of-Ways
Program/ Software knowledge a plus
• Smartsheet
• Salesforce
• ProjectWise
• Auto CADD/ MicroStation
Qualifications
• High School Diploma. AA in engineering technology or drafting required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 - 4 years of professional experience.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
Performance Expectations
• Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
• Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
• Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
• Complete other duties as required/assigned
• Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(85% typical)
• Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
• Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
• Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
• Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
• Compare field data to base plan
• Design and draft construction drawings using standard engineering fundamentals for approval by Federal, state and local agencies
• Gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
• Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
• Review and interpret design manuals and details from local jurisdictions
• Size and specify design requirements
• Complete Annual Individual Training Program
