Job Summary: Responsible for the overall management functions of retail store operation, including the management of all day-to-day operations to achieve targeted productivity, sales and profitability. Manages customer service, store image, merchandise presentation, processing functions, loss control and prevention, and cost control goals in attainment of the agency’s objectives. Responsible for staffing, supervising, training and motivation of team members.
• Effectively manages all fiscal components of profit and loss statement to attain targeted agency objectives.
• Responsible for successful achievement of targeted sales quota to include training, motivating and evaluating employees of the projected sales quotas. Provides leadership and direction in an effort to maximize sales.
• Operates within budget while attaining processing and sales goal with attention to controlling expenses. Meets or exceed sales and expense goals on a consistent basis.
• Effectively manages donated and new goods (direct donations, truck deliveries, ADC trailers) by ensuring efficient utilization of resources to maximize sales and control shrinkage. Manages pricing integrity and accurate recording of new goods. Manages sorting, preparation, pricing and movement of material goods to the sales floor, and rotation of goods. Ensures goods are stocked and displayed with an eye towards store image and customer appeal and consistent with agency standards.
• Understands the complete operation of the cash registers and assures that cash register and transaction procedures are strictly adhered to. Maintains accurate daily records including sales and deposit reports in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures a uniform customer service approach by all assigned staff at all times and, when necessary, resolves customer/donor complaints or problems in a timely and courteous manner with the goal of achieving customer satisfaction while complying with agency policies and procedures.
• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and placement process, completing applicant flow data and applicant notes., initiating and closing placement requisitions, executing termination procedures and the completion of associated paperwork in compliance with agency policy.
• Plans and prepares work schedules, supervises, trains and motivates store employees to include providing individualized training and development for staff.
• Responsible for reading and understanding the Personnel Policies & Procedures Manual, ADC Processing Associate Manual and Retail Store Procedures and Guidelines with a complete understanding of the “Employee Purchase Policy.” Ensures employees receive training and are in compliance with current policies.
• Manages daily operation to include handling employee relations’ issues such as addressing problems with employee conduct or demeanor through use of the corrective action procedure as defined in policy, and consulting with respective regional manager and Human Resources for guidance and clarification. Ensures performance evaluations are conducted according to agency policy.
• Ensures timely submission of weekly payroll to include verifying accuracy of electronic entries and paychecks/pay stubs prior to distribution and following up on payroll related problems.
• Adheres to the agency’s security and loss prevention programs, policies and procedures and guidelines.
• Ensures store appearance and merchandise presentation is consistent with agency standards including building exterior and parking lot appearances.
• Responsible for enforcing safety policies and practices.
Job Requirements: BA/BS degree preferred in business management, or related field, or equivalent experience. 5 years experience in retail setting with a minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience. Subject to alcohol and drug testing. Subject to criminal history background checks.
