Duties
Position will work within a high-caliber team of tax professionals both in the U.S. and abroad to satisfy tax reporting requirements, defend historical tax positions, and capitalize on tax planning opportunities globally.
INCOME TAX COMPLIANCE AND TAX ACCOUNTING
• Prepare federal income tax and multi-state apportionment and tax attribute work papers and coordinate with external advisors for return processing
• Provide support for annual and interim ASC 740 tax provisions including support for annual audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors
• Preparation of tax-related reconciliations
• Prepare estimated tax and extension analysis and coordinate the processing of payments
• Monitor and research federal, state, and local income tax legislative changes to ensure compliance with rapidly changing taxation and capitalize on opportunities
• Research tax notices received and correspond with the taxing authority as needed
• Provide support, as necessary and often in coordination with external advisors, for federal,  state, and local income tax audits
• Indirect tax compliance and tax accounting
• Prepare work papers and coordinate with external advisors for processing of multi-state sales and use tax returns, business licenses, property tax, and other similar filings
• Prepare Canadian PST, HST, and GST returns
• Confirm and maintain proper taxation of products, with support from foreign colleagues and external tax advisors, ensuring necessary changes are implemented seamlessly
• Coordinate and maintain state registrations, customer exemption certificates, and reseller exemption certificates
• Monitor and research indirect tax legislative changes globally, including developments in digital service tax and often with support from external tax advisors, to ensure compliance with evolving taxation of technology and digital services
• Provide support, as necessary and often in coordination with external advisors, for indirect tax audits
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance; Master’s in taxation and/or CPA preferred
• 3-5 years of tax/accounting experience with a public accounting firm and/or a tax department of a multi-state corporation
• Possesses an attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to drive tasks to completion autonomously
• Strong forensic accounting skills, including the ability to collect, prepare and analyze data and information to reconstruct, detect, support, or refute a position and ensure that explanation provided reconciles with the underlying data
• Exceptional written, presentation, and communication skills including the ability to translate technical tax issues clearly and succinctly to individuals without technical tax backgrounds
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with OneSource Tax Provision, data analytical software, and/or SAP a plus
