Full Job Description Our receptive audience is demanding that we make more calls. We represent business owners seeking to sell their companies. The business development and outreach staff at the larger companies and private equity funds that buy our clients’ companies are telling us to call them more often. Never get a hang up. Only speak with people who are thankful for your call.
Work in a professional environment. Earn salary, enjoy PTO, and help the whole team earn bonuses.
You will not be trying to sell our services. You will be assisting the people you are calling in making their job easier and helping them earn larger bonuses by handing them the very opportunities they otherwise have to work very hard to uncover.
Though this job centers on making calls (and to a lesser extent sending emails), this is not a “call-center” job. You will be one of two or three telemarketers/outreach personnel who are part of a tight-knit team of about ten including directors, associates, and analysts working together to achieve a common goal.
Job Responsibilities
Work off our existing list of serious buyers to present them new opportunities. They know who we are and due to our excellent reputation and portfolio of companies look forward to our calls. Due to our twenty years in the market and the thousands of companies we have taken to market, we each buyer’s appetite for deals, their investment criteria, which personnel to speak with, and what information they like to hear up front.
Using these lists, contact the appropriate business development associate at each buyer, present them with a one-page “teaser” outlining the business prospect along with a non-disclosure agreement and ask them to sign the NDA in order to receive a more detailed report on the company for sale. If they decline, ask for any updates to their investment criteria and note them in our CRM to keep our calling as efficient as possible.
Use email to grease the skids on the calls, whittle down the number of calls to be made, and follow up on earlier calls.
After getting up to speed, if and when inclined to do so, carry the discussions with the buyers a bit further down the path of the deal as a natural growth opportunity and way to diversify your daily workload.
As our B2B Telemarketer, you must be a highly energetic and passionate individual with a positive and highly motivated can-do attitude. It is also vital for your role that you possess excellent verbal and written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Specific qualifications include:
• Experience in professional business writing.
• Prioritization and organization skills.
• Proficiency in Word and Outlook; Salesforce a plus.
• Communication skills: written and verbal; delivering information in an empathetic, yet persuasive manner.
• Commercial understanding and awareness of business.
• Possession of a valid and current driver license.
• Ability to consistently present yourself in a professional manner in keeping with Benchmark International’s image (as shown, for example, on the company’s web site).
• Availability and willingness to work outside normal business hours at times, whether early or late, as required by the team’s schedules and expectations.
• Ability to obtain a Florida real-estate sales associate license (at company expense) within 60 days of employment. (Note that this has very little to do with this job but is a regulatory requirement.)
• Absence of any unfavorable history with FINRA, the SEC, or any state regulatory agency.
Benefits
This is a salaried position with paid time off, holidays, and public service days, medical, dental, vision, and AD&D insurance as well as the opportunity to contribute to an FSA and a 401(k) with company matching.
On target annual compensation for relationship managers is $70,000. Base pay is received as a bi-weekly salary totaling $40,000 to $45,000 per year based on experience. Additional compensation comes from bonuses for each transaction closed by the team. Bonuses are paid in the month after receipt of fees by the company. Overall compensation can vary from year to year based on the team’s success and on target performance.

The relationship administrators will be the junior members of a tight-knit team working shoulder to shoulder with both young and veteran M&A professionals so as to best ensure strong support for the role, the widest possible spread of knowledge, and direct hands-on training. As such, this is a 100% in office position with no exceptions.
