POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance Associate works as a team with HUB South Compliance Manager and CCO to provide compliance, program, and product research and support. The qualified candidate must view this role as a service designed to provide support and help to both internal and external customers, solve problems, and identify solutions.
Conduct legal research regarding both state and federal employment law & employee health and welfare program laws, rules, and regulations in response to internal and external customer questions
Respond to day-to-day internal compliance questions via emails and client calls
Must provide timely, responsive, and grammatically correct written correspondence to internal and external customers
Develop and maintain current knowledge of related employment law & employee health and welfare regulations including, without limit, Title VII, ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA/ADA, Medicare, COBRA, Cafeteria Plans, tax-savings benefits, and other related compliance rules and regulations
Provide compliance guidance and support to employee benefits groups with under 50 employees (non-ACA/FMLA groups)
Work as part of the South Region CCO team to build/peer review client-facing materials including bulletin, eBooks, and educational content
Partner with CCO-SCS to build and manage PEO exit processes, tools, and materials
Conduct PEO Cost Comparisons collecting data and building cost-comparison workbooks
Build, deliver, and manager PEO exit project plan
Conduct research using HUB sanctioned tools (such as EBIA and Westlaw) and compile resources and explanations that will assist both the client and the internal HUB team learn and understand the compliance requirements for each fact-set/circumstances
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 3-5 years supporting employee benefits/health and welfare plans
Foundational knowledge of all related federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements including ERISA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Worker s Compensation, Medicare, HIPAA
Must be able to manage multiple and competing priorities throughout the workday
Must be self-starter and well organized
Limited travel may be required
Ability to work remotely/from home in a dedicated home-office space
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
Knowledge of Westlaw and EBIA a plus
Department Account Management & Service
Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
Required Travel: Negligible
Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
