Job Summary
The Manager (Clinical/Administrative Director), Poison Information Center, is responsible for the operation of the management of the Florida Poison Information Center. Major areas of responsibility include administration, clinical education and research, as well as the development and implementation of Poison Center programs in these areas. Represents the center by serving as a liaison to the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC). As necessary, represents the center in governmental, industrial and hospital affairs. Responsible for all budgeting and grant management. In cooperation with the Medical Director, responsible for clinical supervision of the Specialists in Poison Information and for quality assurance for the Poison Helpline. Demonstrates ability to interview, hire, schedule, assign work to and evaluate the work performance of employees supervised.  Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
The Manager must have a PharmD degree or a BSN, or comparable clinical specialty degree; and shall be a diplomat (DABAT) of the American Board of Applied Toxicology, or actively working toward that certification. The position may also be held by a Physician with a board certification in Medical Toxicology. The individual must demonstrate a full-time commitment to poison center related activities, including the areas of clinical toxicology, education, research and administration. Experience in poison center administration is desirable.
