There is an excellent opportunity at Robert Half for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. Do you multitask effectively and have exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills? You will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, such as preparing financial statements, and establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The short-term contract / temporary to full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Tampa, Florida.
Major responsibilities
- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
- Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions
- Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
- Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll
- Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections Job Requirements - Strong time management and organizational skills
- Background in payroll preferred
- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
- Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- Payroll experience
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Adeptness in Monthly Bank Reconciliation
- Bank reconciliations experience highly desired
- Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks
- Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General familiarity with Office Administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cash Handling
- A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
- Excel and Peachtree experience a plus
