Hillsborough Community College is looking for an experienced developer for the role of Applications Engineer. This position is the senior technical position within the Information Technology division responsible for the overall applications development, implementation, and maintenance of the IT solution suite and departmental software applications. Provides technical and project leadership supporting integrations with the ERP suite, web-based applications including the MyHCC portal and Search for Classes, and related business process improvement projects. Responsible for developing and troubleshooting custom programs to enhance the college’s systems. Develops, writes, tests, implements, and maintains application programs. Provides guidance to developers in the department. Analyzes requests for feasibility and proposes alternatives for meeting the needs of the institution. Responsible for researching and evaluating new administrative information systems technologies appropriate for the College and providing institution-wide strategic recommendations in further leveraging technology.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining college systems, including ERP system integrations, MyHCC portal enhancements, and other online systems.
• Responsible for functional consulting and analysis of business needs
• Develop, document, and maintain applications-related change management processes ensuring efficient, reliable, and secure applications.
• Independently researches, evaluates, and tests new technologies appropriate for the college; provides recommendations on technology systems and applications.
