Position Summary:
The CGI (Computer Graphics Imagery) department in Dotcom ensures that digital image projects across the Enterprise are executed effectively and efficiently.
The 3D Quality Control artist must be self-motivated, a self-starter, highly organized, detail and multi-task oriented. The 3D Quality Control artist must have good communication skills and the ability to adjust to changing priorities. The 3D Quality Control artist has experience working in a fast-paced corporate production environment while following corporate style guides and requirements. The individual must be a team player and work well in collaboration with others, but also must be able to work independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish. The individual thrives in a constantly changing environment, enjoys and is quick to learn new skills and a positive can-do attitude.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that render jobs are properly prioritized in the queue system so that project goals are met while monitoring the render farm's health and status on a regular basis
• Monitor, manage and audit renders for daily deliveries
• Review images for color consistency, accurate model sizes and details compared to references to ensure photo-realistic renderings
• Plan and communicate effectively in regards of resources allocations in accordance with the needs of the projects and of the production team
• Help and support the artists with support requests and errors
• Identify and report technical rendering or quality issues; troubleshoot and escalate issues
• Effectively communicate errors and provide suggestions to artist(s) in order to correct the renders
• Track progress of the projects and keep management informed
• Assist in maintaining an organized file structure
• Keep an open dialogue with the team and be open to suggestions and critique
• Create line-ups of completed models/images using Adobe Photoshop or InDesign for review
• Communicate with stakeholders and act as liaison between them and the artist(s)
• Prep images for upload to the DAM (Digital Asset Management)
• Upload images and distribute to the website as needed
• Perform other duties as required
Employment Standards:
• Proficient knowledge of retail, manufacturing, and/or furniture industry preferred
• Ability to communicate, influence, and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and anticipate the needs of a changing landscape
• Some ability working with different styles of employees
• Provide clear direction and effective communication
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in graphic/web design or similar field preferred
• 3+ years of experience with graphic design and/or 3D
Essential Requirements:
• Intermediate knowledge of 3DS Max, V-Ray 3+, and Corona
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Cloud Suite products including Photoshop and InDesign
• Working knowledge of MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Know the fundamentals of Windows operating systems
• Familiarity with rendering pipeline, infrastructure, and hardware
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Shell scripting and programming skills
• Have an eye for color, experience in color-correction, and color matching
• Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines
• Experience with Wrike, ServiceNow or Asana is a plus
Knowledge of Azure Batch Explorer or other cloud-based render farms is a plus
Working Conditions:
• Ability to work extended hours may be required to meet deadlines, handle unusual workloads or to accomplish organizational priorities
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods in one location which may be restricted to the employees workstation
