Job Description
Our Policy & Government Affairs team collaborate with government entities and policy organizations at local and national levels. We address legislative and regulatory issues that promote the discovery and development of innovative medicines, vaccines and animal health products while improving and protecting patient access to care.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead the oncology policy strategy in collaboration with global and regional Oncology Policy colleagues, the Policy Hubs and country affiliates.
• Lead strategic oncology policy projects to secure sustainable funding for cancer care.
• Identify opportunities for policy change that can facilitate patient access to our Company's cancer portfolio and work with subsidiaries and regional & global teams to design and implement advocacy programs in pursuit of these opportunities.
• Monitor and respond to any external developments that may threaten patient access to oncology care, now and in the future, including policy changes related to product approvals, funding and intellectual property.
• Strengthen our Company's network of key policy makers, patient organizations and other institutions.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with colleagues in policy, communications, access and commercial functions globally, in the regions and at country level.
• Develop internal and external position papers on Oncology policy issues.
• Facilitate internal information sharing on a routine basis.
Education:
• BA/BS Required
• Post graduate degree in Policy, Business Administration or similarly relevant discipline preferred
Required Experience and Skills:
• Commercial and political acumen, with strong ability to prioritize business critical issues and develop create solutions to complex policy problems.
• Strong initiative and leadership, with demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, design effective advocacy efforts and execute impactful advocacy programs, mobilizing internal and external stakeholders towards a shared goal.
• Strong collaborative skills, with proven strengths in inspiring confidence and cooperation amongst internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships with external influencers and decision makers.
• Excellent communicator across functions and leadership levels.
• Capability to stay focused in a complex, fast-evolving environment.
• 10+ years of experience in healthcare policy (in and outside pharmaceutical sector).
• Preference given to a leader with cross functional experience covering oncology, access & commercial functions.
• Experience at regional, global, and country level is a distinct advantage.
