ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Created as a non-profit organization in 1996, today the Chiles Center is housed  at the College of Public Health, at the University of South Florida.  The Chiles Center's mission is to "integrate and apply the best in evidence-based research, education, practice, and service to promote optimal health and well-being across the life-course of women, children, families, and communities locally and globally."  The Center is inspired by its vision of being ?a multidisciplinary, community-engaged catalyst promoting optimal health and well-being across the life course of women, children, families, and communities; by conducting cutting-edge research, applying evidence-based practices and approaches, delivering education, and guiding change through service and partnership."
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Social and Behavioral Researcher serves as a professional individual contributor on one or more projects with expertise in maternal child health (MCH) and/or quality improvement expertise to facilitate the design, development, promotion, and implementation of health care quality improvement initiatives.  This position is grant funded.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the development and implementation of perinatal quality improvement projects to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.  Designs, develops, and facilitates implementation of perinatal quality improvement projects to improve maternal and infant health outcomes through the delivery of data-driven, value-added, and cost-effective MCH services.  Researches clinical pathways and tools to implement quality improvement processes; design quantitative and qualitative data collection approaches, collect data, and analyze results; design and distribute outreach marketing materials.
• Manage regular communications and scheduling for FPQC subcommittees, advisory groups, webinar education sessions, and other ad-hoc meetings.  Provide support for in person FPQC trainings and hosting of webinars.  Develop promotional materials for QI project engagement and implementation.
• Assists with technical support to hospitals participating in QI projects including conducting meetings and webinars; participates in drafting reports for granting agencies and manuscripts for publication.
• Perform day-to-day management of assigned tasks and projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
• This position requires a Master's degree in a field directly related to the research and one year of research experience; or a doctorate in one of the same fields.
• Work experience may not be substituted for the Master's degree requirement.
PREFERRED:
• Prior experience in the area of maternal child health; experience participating in quality improvement efforts in a perinatal health care setting; experience assessing public health quality improvement initiatives; experience developing educational or marketing materials; experience carrying out quantitative or qualitative research; extensive experience in written and oral communication; experience interacting with medical professionals; ability to interpret concepts and carry through projects from inception to implementation.
