HVAC/Refrigeration Technician

What you get to do:
As a HVAC/Refrigeration Technician, you will:
• Repair and maintain all assigned HVAC/Refrigeration equipment (Residential, Commercial and Industrial) at Busch Gardens, Adventure Island facilities
• Provide service call support for the park and efficiently complete work orders and assigned tasks as required
• Diagnose equipment failures to the component level with root cause analysis (includes electromechanical, electrical, sealed systems and any other HVAC/R system failures)
• Work closely with Park Services supervisors and fellow technicians to create and support team atmosphere
• Provide maintenance services to internal customers in other park departments (Operations, Merchandise, Culinary, etc.)
• Perform special project assignments from supervisor as required
• Comply with Company/Park Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
• At least 18 years of age
• Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Have a driver’s license and ability to meet company driving guidelines required
• Have a EPA Universal Certification and documented proof of education/training in HVAC/R preferred
• 4 years HVAC/R technician experience, including working knowledge of residential and industrial / commercial equipment preferred.
• 2 years’ experience working with three phase electrical rated equipment and/or commercial refrigeration equipment preferred.
• 1 year experience in the operation, maintenance and/or installation of building management controls for HVAC/R equipment preferred
• Knowledge/experience with local laws and codes as they apply to the HVAC/R trade and equipment preferred
• Able to diagnose operational problems with residential, industrial and commercial HVAC/R equipment as well as the ability to work in and around and troubleshoot electrical devices
• Able to work with a computer based control system for building automation
• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, managers and customers
• Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week (some overtime required) with rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
• Able to lift, push and pull at least 50 lbs.
• Engage in extensive walking and standing
• Ability to climb/ascend heights of up to 100 feet
• Ability to work in closed and confined spaces
• Frequent bending from waist to floor, kneeling, squatting, simple hand grasping work and some fine hand manipulation.
• Occasional crawling and overhead work
• Work environment primary outdoors in Florida weather conditions(high heat/humidity, wet weather conditions and occasional temperatures -30 degrees)
