Full Job Description Responsibilities:
• Reports directly to the Nurse Supervisor.
• Is responsible for own actions and for seeking/acquiring sufficient information necessary to function effectively in the assigned health setting.
• Maintains current Speech Therapy skills through attendance of continuing education programs and in-service classes.
• Is proficient in assessment of patient needs: plans, implements, documents, and evaluates therapy care of each assigned patient.
• Provides continuity of care by charting and reporting accurately and legibly on all assigned patients.
• Performs all routine Speech Therapy duties required to provide for the emotional, spiritual, and physical wellness and safety of the patient.
• Notifies the agency and the physician of acute changes in the patient’s condition, obtains orders and updates care plan as necessary.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy program or equivalent education.
• Meets all qualifications as stated within the state practice act.
• Must have a minimum of one-year experience in an acute care agency and must have at least (2) satisfactory references from previous employers, one of which must verify Speech Therapy employment.
• Must possess and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Must display good emotional health and be able to physically tolerate much standing, stooping and bending; must meet all agency regulations.
• Must be self-directed and able to work with little supervision and have good observational
