Overview
The Director of Strategic Programs will support the company’s cross-functional strategic initiatives to achieve short- and long-term business objectives. He/she will work closely with leadership to help identify opportunities for increased revenues, cost savings, and operational efficiencies, develop a business case & strategy with supporting tactics, and lead the program from initiation to execution and ongoing management. The Director of Strategic Programs can take highly complex situations/problems and translate into a roadmap & action plan that delivers results. He/She is a self-starter, a team player, highly organized, and advocate for the customer and our company.
Responsibilities
• Lead strategic programs that support the company’s short- and long-term strategic objectives, delivering increased revenues, cost savings and/or operational efficiencies
• Define the program objective, develop the strategy, determine KPIs, and deliver against a project plan that moves the program forward to success
• Present strategic vision and execution plan to key business stakeholders & leadership team to ensure the program scope meets all requirements and its impact is known across the organization
• Lead cross-functional teams and advise decision making to drive business performance and achieve strategic vision
• Translate data into insights to evaluate performance, share key learnings/recommendations with executive team, and implement any changes to optimize the program based on findings
• In many cases, simultaneously act as business sponsor, project manager, and product owner to drive strategic programs forward in the absence of one or more of these roles
• Report out weekly on progress, risks, considerations, and performance to key business stakeholders & leadership
Qualifications
Education/Training:
• Bachelor’s Degree Business Management, Administration, Communications or related field
Experience: • 5+ years’ experience in leading cross-functional programs from initiation to ongoing management
• Experience working directly with executive leadership on strategy, new program/product development
• Experience in developing direct-to-consumer platforms, communication, experiences or processes
Technical or Administrative Knowledge: • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Powerpoint and Excel
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Wrike, Basecamp or Asana
Special Skills and Abilities and/or: • Ability to see the see “high and low”, both at a strategic level all the way down to the tactics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills
• Highly detail oriented with an expertise in organization, multi-tasking and prioritization
• Strong skills in agility, along with the ability to pivot easily when directions and priorities changes on short notice
• Prioritize and fosters cross-functional partnership
• Ability to consolidate, validate, and analyze data and summarize findings into digestible insights that drive action
