Cambridge International Systems is looking for a Director of Human Resources to support its needs as a growing organization in a global GOVCON environment. The Director of HR will provide a broad range of Human Resources expertise to support the achievement of business objectives across the company. This role will effectively lead analysis and decision-making in the areas of HR operations, leadership, talent management and development, change management, talent acquisition, and employee relations. The Director of HR will be a sounding board for the business, evaluating and influencing the effect of business decisions on people, and translating business needs to actionable HR programs and solutions. Successful candidates will be highly collaborative, customer service oriented, and business and relationship-building focused. This position will report directly to the Chief Administration Officer.

Required Skills
• Lead strategic consulting of the business in all areas of organizational support, including human resources and business alignment, culture and change management, leadership development and coaching, and workforce planning.
• Partner with top-level leadership to deeply understand the business to proactively identify trends and recurring challenges across the company and engage the team in proposing strategic solutions.
• Manage HR operations by developing HR processes and implementing systems that support company growth.
• Collaborate with internal HR stakeholders and other functional areas to build, integrate, and maintain HR technology interfaces across the company to drive efficiencies.
• Provide guidance, mentoring and leadership to HR team members, ensuring appropriate use of resources to provide a comprehensive and effective HR service.
• Guide management and employee actions by developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Lead the definition, development and management of a job classification and position description framework consistent with the company’s core capabilities.
• Develop, implement, and facilitate a performance management program that meets business needs and supports employee development.
• Assess the effectiveness of current benefits programs in achieving organizational objectives; identify best practices and benchmarks; partner with benefits broker to develop recommendations for modifications to align to HR strategy and business goals.
• Lead development and delivery of manager training focused on leadership and technical skills that meet cultural and compliance needs.
• Collaborate with other functional areas to problem solve and implement change.
• Address HR legal issues foremost within the company and work with outside counsel as needed.
• Serve as partner and advisor to line management on a full range of HR and related business subjects, and act as the key facilitator and communicator in implementing HR programs within the organization.
• Serve as the HR risk management expert, remaining educated about current employment law and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the company complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements; ensure adherence to government contracting-specific HR and staffing requirements.
Required Experience
• 14+ years of demonstrated experience as an HR practitioner with progressive HR generalist or business partner responsibilities, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in a management role, preferably in the government contracting industry.
• Demonstrated background in employee relations including investigations and corrective practices, performance management, training and development, and staffing and retention required.
• Well versed in federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting HR.
• Supervisory experience leading and developing an HR team including the ability to inspire, motivate, influence, and hold colleagues accountable to high standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; customer service orientation; ability to function effectively as team member and team leader; demonstrated ability to establish respect, credibility, and trust at all levels of the organization; analytical ability, problem solving skills.
• Mastery of communication skills and styles, both written and verbal; demonstrated ability to effectively present information to internal and external partners.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and results focused.
• Attention to detail, process oriented, high level of proficiency in organizational and prioritization skills.
• Familiarity with ADP WorkforceNow, HR software and working knowledge of MS Office.
• Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree required; post graduate degree or related certification preferred (i.e. SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, etc.)
