Are you a paralegal with first party property or insurance defense experience? Are you experienced in medical document review? If so, Special Counsel has a great opportunity for you! We are seeking experienced candidates for a full-time, permanent First Party Property Paralegal position in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities
• Work with a team of paralegals to provide legal support to 3 attorneys
• Review medical records, chronologies, and summaries
• Create concise medical summaries from complex medical records
• Maintain department records, both physically and electronically
• Draft and prepare correspondence
• Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• At least 1 year of insurance defense experience (required)
• At least 1 year of first party property experience (preferred)
• Strong background in reviewing medical records and creating medical summaries
• Proficient in medical chronologies and terminology
• Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Great communication and follow-up skills
Salary/ Benefits
• Up to 55k (commensurate with experience)
• 2 tiers of healthcare through United (medical, vision, dental) (85% coverage of base plan)
• IRA after one year
• PTO, sick days, holidays
