Full Job Description JOB SUMMARY
Manage the financial analysis function of HCI Group, Inc., and Subsidiaries, including performing detailed level financial analysis to be utilized by the chief financial officer and the executive leadership team of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Provide a full array of financial analysis of HCI financial data at various levels of complexity to be utilized by finance management and other executive level employees of the company.
• Work with the finance team to forecast cashflows. Prepare liquidity analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Work with the finance team to manage all financial covenants.
• Manage company-wide financial budgets and forecasts, updated continuously throughout the fiscal year.
• Assist Chief Financial Officer in preparations for quarterly and year-end earnings calls.
• Responsible for maintaining the updated investor presentation deck.
• Assist with the monthly accounting close regarding debt, debt related items, line of credit items and various other accounting related items.
• Assist with the statutory financial statement footnotes dealing with investment and investment related activity.
• Prepare assigned audit work papers.
• Work with company investment committee, preparing and presenting detailed summary information on the company’s investment portfolio, and identifying opportunities Monitor and review new SSAPs and the Codification; assess impact of new accounting pronouncements on the company’s financial statements and footnotes.
• Work with the treasury function to manage cash balances for HCI and all subsidiaries, maximizing the returns on cash investments and cash flow consideration.
• Ensure internal control compliance as mandated by Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Clear, concise oral and written communication skills
• Insurance industry experience preferred.
• Team oriented, proactive approach to all situations
EDUCATION & TRAINING
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or MBA Preferred
EXPERIENCE
• 10+ years of relevant work experience
