Description
SAIC is seeking a F5 Systems Engineer in Tampa, FL.  This position provides F5 Systems Expert Engineering Support to the Headquarters, U.S. Central Command on MacDill AFB. The engineer is responsible for on-site F5 Tier IV professional services required for surveying, designing, integrating, implementing, testing, and documenting F5 BIG-IP and BIG-IQ systems for worldwide enterprise-class networks in support of the USCENTCOM mission.
The F5 Systems Engineer will be responsible for optimizing both current F5 use and future F5 enterprise design considerations that include related enterprise-wide efforts such as modernization/upgrades within Data Center, Virtual environment, Microsoft, Cyber Security and CISCO-based network infrastructure.  General duties are associated with advancing current F5 BIG-IP systems use and providing recommendations for future F5 module inclusion that lead to a more operationally and fiscally efficient network, to include:
·     Tier IV network operations escalation support during break/fix situations to include working with O&M Tier II-III engineering support.
·     Supporting F5related testing, documentation, and integration within the enterprise, ensuring compatibility with existing COTS and GOTS applications.
·     Preparing F5 engineering plans and site installation technical design packages as part of a larger engineering staff/project team
·     Advises on the analysis, acquisition and installation of additional F5 modules and required hardware and software systems
·     Gathers and analyzes F5 systems data to support the development of new capability fulfillment strategies
·     Provide relevant F5 technical advisement support for patching, upgrading, and securing systems for regular update releases into production.
·     Provides integration and post-installation F5 support to the operations team
·     Co-develops work plans, procedures, and estimates as they relate to new F5 systems integration tasks
·     Interfaces with various team members to implement F5 tasks according to the project management schedule
·     Researches, evaluates, and recommends F5 systems, equipment, and technologies to meet system requirements
·     Develops F5 technical instructions, engineering plans, technical designs, and other systems integration related documents
·     Provides F5 knowledge transfer to assigned C4ES staff in accordance with contractual agreements
·     Provide support to written and oral reports as required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience as a system integrator, system engineer, or senior system administrator with focus on Data Center Systems.  4+ years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
• F5 200 level certification
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification required for DoD 8570 compliance
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
• At a minimum F5 200 level certification and extensive experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and integrating F5, CISCO, VMWare, and MS systems
• Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office tools, to include Visio
• The ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment where each day provides a new set of challenges under short time constraints involving complex network configuration and/or troubleshooting requirements
• Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, regulations, policies,
• and procedures
Desired Education and Skills:
• ITIL certification desired
• Virtualization experience, specifically with VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon View, a strong plus
• Microsoft Certified Professional a plus
• CCNA Certification
