WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Project Director in our Tampa, FL or Miami, FL office to support our company's growing Resilience Practice . This position can also be based out of any of our Florida WSP USA offices.
This is a project management and client development position that requires technical expertise in modeling climate-related hazards such as sea level rise, storm surge, and riverine flooding, or assessing the impacts caused by those hazards to our clients' infrastructure assets, their services, and our society. You will work with other experts from our Resilience Practice, including climate scientists, engineers, planners, economists, policy specialists, and risk modelers, and expand our organization to meet our growing portfolio of clients, for whom we identify their risk to climate-related hazards, including socio-economic impacts, and develop resilience strategies and plans to reduce these risks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Help to lead efforts to provide quantitative analysis of climate risk and resilience and other long-term climate-related considerations for a range of clients (e.g., due to sea level rise, increased precipitation, increased frequency and magnitude of hazard events)
* Contribute to the continued expansion of the market, through the delivery of existing services and products for new clients and the design and delivery of new services and products aimed at supporting effective decisions and improve capital investments to reduce the effects of future climate-related hazards
* Manage multiple projects, delivering on commitments through effective coordination with external resources and consulting team partners
* Develop strategic business plans, working with sector leads from within the WSP USA business lines on collaborative engagements
* Represent WSP USA in the marketplace, contributing capabilities and experiences to other WSP offices

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or other technical discipline relevant to the assessment and management of climate/disaster risk and resilience
* 12+ years of professional experience, including project management, supervision and mentoring experience
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders (e.g., transportation, water, energy, municipal) to address resilience concerns
* Technical capabilities and leadership in project design and delivery
* Experience working with a spectrum of environmental, socio-economic, and infrastructure data sets and large datasets
* Ability to innovative on challenging topics to produce client-tailored products
* Experience working independently, and on efforts requiring remote collaboration
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
* Post Graduate Education
* Management consulting and business development experience
* Work with a range of agencies/entities in the United States, preferably Florida
* Experience developing resilience-based tools and resources to inform long-term decision making
* Programming and modeling skills
