Student Employment
The Center for Student Involvement is looking to hire five Student Assistants to join our Front Desk team. Please complete the following application and upload all the documents as directed to be considered for any of the positions.
Position Requirements :
• Must have Federal Work Study (through Financial Aid). The position is funded through FWS.
• Employees will be required to attend trainings as designated and rotate areas based on need.
• Employees must fill out timesheets as instructed.
• Remote work is not applicable to this position.
Hourly Wage: $10.00
Duties: Basic Front Desk Responsibilities
• Answer phones, take messages, respond to general inquiries and assisting with scheduling of staff meetings.
• Stay current on events, meetings and programs of the Center, fraternity/sorority councils and the Marshall Student Center.
• Greet visitors to the office, checking students and other guests in for meetings with staff, responding to inperson requests and questions.
• Complete short and long-term projects as assigned.
• Clerical duties such as copying, faxing, filing, record keeping, data entry, typing, organizing, and cleaning office space, processing incoming and outgoing mail and running errands.
• Track frequently asked questions and services provided by the office staff.
• Support the Center for Student Involvement staff and initiatives.
• Maintain appearance and inventories of office and storage closets.
• Other duties as assigned.
Data Management Support
• Oversees the fraternity/sorority online roster update process, including soliciting updates, processing membership forms in preparation for events and grades, and conducting follow up with chapters as needed.
• Serves as the main point of contact for questions regarding fraternity/sorority roster updates.
• Assists in designing the roster update and interest form processes, and in assessment associated with these topics.
• Conducts one-on-ones (or updates other student assistants on how to do so) with chapter representatives to finalize rosters.
Average Number of Hours per Week: Employees will work a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 18 office hours a week to cover work shifts.
Schedule: Office hours are 8:30am -5:00pm Monday-Friday. Work hours are given within this time frame, dependent of your class schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicant must have a current Federal Work Study (FWS) award for the current academic year in order to apply for this position. Preferred Qualifications:
• Employees must have a 2.25 GPA or higher and good academic standing.
• Employees must take a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Demonstrates initiative and critical thinking skills when performing tasks, and is willing to analyze and innovate office procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates team work and effective time management.
• Highly experienced in all Microsoft Office programs and Adobe.
• Ability to handle confidential matters and maintain high level of professionalism.
• Related work experience.
• General knowledge of the Center for Student Involvement at USF is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent level of customer service while maintaining a professional interaction. Prompt and courteous.
• Positive work demeanor with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, strong work ethic, responsibility, and dependability to complete goals.
• Willing to work during breaks (summer, winter, & spring breaks).
• Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and move furniture.

Additionally, there are 6 graduate assistants, 1 administrative specialist, 4 coordinators, 1 assistant director, 1 associate director, and 1 director that rounds out the full, award-winning team.
