POSITION SUMMARY:
Residence Life Coordinators (RLC) are responsible for implementing and managing a comprehensive residential education program in a community housing resident students. Responsibilities include selection, training, and supervision of student staff and in some areas graduate staff; implementation of a residential curriculum; supporting academic initiatives; advising hall council and supporting student leadership development; adjudicating student conduct and behavior issues; managing multiple facilities; crisis management and emergency response. Residence Life Coordinators also are directly responsible for assisting all students of concern within their community. Residence Life Coordinators are required to live on campus and serve in an on duty rotation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Select, train, and supervise Resident Assistants, Community manager, and potentially, a graduate assistant.
Implement a relationship focused Residential Curriculum in the halls, and work with Residential Education Academic Initiatives to support academic initiatives on the campus including, but not limited to, Living Learning Communities, Faculty in Residence and Faculty Fellow collaborations, student care management, and other data driven student academic initiatives.
Respond to crisis and emergency situation and serve in an on-duty rotation. Adjudicate student conduct: review incident reports, conduct judicial hearings, assign and manage educational sanctions, communicate with students regarding cases; ensure timely case management and students due process rights.
Advise Hall Council, advise executive officers and general counsel.
Manage Multiple Facilities. Assess facility condition and needs and report issues; assess damages and bill as appropriate.
Attend department meetings, retreats, functions, Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, with at least one year of experience in a student affairs or student personnel position; or a Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or Sports Recreation Administration. Work experience may not be substituted for the Bachelor degree requirement for this position..
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel, and Graduate-level residence life staff experience, supervising student staff, and advising student organizations is strongly preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Compensation includes an annual salary of $35,705.00 and full university benefits.
This is a 12-month, live-in position. Residence Life Coordinators are required to live in an on-campus apartment in order to perform the duties of the Residence Life Coordinator position. The furnished apartments include utilities, and wireless internet.
Residential Education does not have a pet policy, which includes cats and dogs.
