This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.
What you'll be doing:
In this position, you will be a member of a team focused on building and managing Equinix Metal's billing systems. This makes you a key contributor in building and maintaining business critical financial systems.
This includes:

• Helping drive design and improve our system architecture, making sure components are built in a way that allows for rapid development, deployment, and constant improvement.

• Hands-on development of key services while participating in a DevOps culture where you feel responsible for all services you and your team put into production.

What you bring to the role:
• Approximately 3+ years of professional experience developing and deploying production level services.
• Approximately 3+ years developing systems and software with clean APIs using gRPC or HTTP protocols.
• Very comfortable and experienced in 2 of the following languages: Go, Ruby, Java.
• Proven track record to think strategically and execute with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication skills internally and externally.
• This team consists of strong team players, so you will be expected to participate in constructive reviews or pairing when the task requires.
Bonus points for:
• Familiarity with .
• Skilled at manipulating big data using SQL or similar languages.
• Experience with breaking apart a monolith into microservices, including switching languages and/or frameworks.
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as Terraform and Kubernetes.
• Experience with networking and the Internet and network technologies (BIOS, network booting, DHCP, layer 2/3, DNS).
• Understanding of data center, server and network infrastructure.
