You Will Be Responsible For:
• Ability to perform and oversee laboratory testing/procedures under assigned departmental specialties
• Ability to ensure regulatory requirements are met and maintain inspection readiness at all times
• Ability and willingness to work independently
• Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules
• Ability and willingness to recommend changes and assist in making changes to improve operations and quality
• Ensure staff competencies for new and existing laboratory testing procedures are maintained and meet regulatory requirements
• Direct Reports: (Core Lab responsibilities: 18-20 direct reports) (Microbiology responsibilities: 12-14 direct reports) (Transfusion Services responsibilities: 10-12 direct reports)
• Ensure departmental staff are highly engaged and working as an effective team
What You Will Need:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related sciences.
• 5 years’ experience
• State of Florida License as a Medical Technologist in all specialties under direct supervision
• State of Florida- Laboratory Supervisor license required or eligible (must obtain within 90 days of hire)
Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technical Supervisor performs laboratory testing in accordance with the Division of Clinical Laboratory Standards and pursuant to Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Chapter 64B3-13.003. Ensures compliance of all regulatory requirements and quality measures . Oversees the day-to-day operations of various lab sections (Core Lab, Transfusion Services, Microbiology) and assists the department manager and director with leadership duties as assigned. Provides direct technical supervision of laboratory personnel. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
