The Company is hiring for a Medical Science Liaison in Tampa, FL.
Job Summary of the Medical Science Liaison
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for executing and supporting the strategic direction of the Company and the Company's products. The position serves as a key interface for the scientific collaboration and exchange within the focused therapeutic areas and geography. The role will focus on identifying, managing and educating external healthcare providers (Surgeon, OR Personnel, Nursing, Therapy and Office Staff) on the best practices in nerve repair, standardizing treatment algorithms, and further aiding surgeons in their adoption of relevant techniques. This position will be part of the Clinical and Translational Sciences (CTS) team, reporting in under Medical Affairs. The MSL will be focused on building, implementing and effectively executing field-based initiatives that support Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs and Professional Educational's goals. The MSL will also be responsible for educating and supporting the appropriate use of the Company's products. As a field-based role within Medical Affairs, this individual will be responsible for executing the defined activities within the assigned region, as well as supporting programs throughout the country, and interfacing regularly with internal colleagues across multiple departments. The MSL will utilize relevant pre-clinical, clinical, peer reviewed publications and other resources as necessary to educate clinicians and help to drive adoption of an evidenced based algorithm. The individual will also be able to understand and communicate current scientific knowledge. It will be important that build and maintain technical and clinical expertise within peripheral nerve repair, pain management and reconstructive surgery and related areas to engage in scientific discussions.
Responsibilities of the Medical Science Liaison
The specific duties of the Medical Science Liaison include but are not limited to: • Engages in continuous learning within the therapeutic area they represent
• Attends appropriate scientific meetings, conduct routine literature searches, and will beexpected to communicate regularly with each other to assure that the entire groupbenefits from individual learning whenever it is relevant
• Establishes oneself as a reliable, trusted, resource of accurate, up-to-date, medical andscientific knowledge requested and desired by healthcare providers
• Responds to personal or electronic inquiries with any available Information which mayinclude reprints or posters, medical letters, literature citations, access to internal and external experts, slides and other related material
• Assists in Medical Affairs projects with a local/regional scope by sharing responsibility including alignment on goals with internal colleagues, exhibiting a problem-solving approach, assessment and coordination of resources, management of timelines, budgets and vendors, conduct debriefing and recommend process improvements
• The MSL will work with thought leaders in their respective disciplines to develop and assess new techniques and applications of the Company's portfolio of peripheral nerve solutions
• Identifies, recruits, trains, and leverages though leaders and clinical advocates
• Maintains and manages key surgeon and clinician relationships
• Collaborates with surgical/clinical thought leaders to develop surgical techniques, treatment guidelines, procedure guides and relevant material to support the appropriate adoption nerve repair technologies and procedures
• Ensures adherence to federal, state and AATB requirements, and company and ethical standards
• Travel requirements for this position will be 50-70% travel in the defined region
Requirements of the Medical Science Liaison
• Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences and/or in a related field
• Experience as Medical Science Liaison or Clinical Science Liaison preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical industry
• Operating Room experience required
