Job Summary of the Sr. Enterprise Application Architect
The Sr. Enterprise Application Architect performs varying degrees of development, technical design, testing, configuration, maintenance, design documentation, enhancements and support activities for a few of our enterprise applications - within the Quality Management Systems (QMS) space, primarily MasterControl and Veeva, and more (HRIS, etc). This individual will be a seasoned professional versed in daily maintenance and improvement of existing systems, training and supporting staff, as well as planning for and implementing new technology. He/she will be responsible for managing/maintaining vendor communications for enterprise applications as it relates to scheduled patches/upgrades, managing upgrades for IT while communicating and setting expectations with our business stakeholders, responding to incoming requests for technical assistance.
This position will act as the primary IT liaison to our customers - our fellow Company employees. Customer service is critical in all situations to ensure we meet the goals of the organization and work together to resolve any technical issues that may arise. He/she will have experience operating in a production support role leveraging an industry leading ITSM (such as BMC, ServiceNow or ManageEngine) in adherence to established procedures and SLA's. This individual requires technical understanding of SDLC, IT Quality and Quality Management Systems, preferably MasterControl. Customer communication and business skills are needed as direct customer interaction is required.
Responsibilities of the Sr. Enterprise Application Architect
The specific duties of the Sr. Enterprise Application Architect include but are not limited to: • Work in conjunction with Quality, Regulatory and internal departments to support enterprise applications like MasterControl, Veeva eTMF and more
• Work in conjunction with HR, Corporate Communications and Professional Education departments to support enterprise applications like HRIS, LMS, and more
• Responsible for the overall configuration, design, and functionality of the MasterControl functions as it relates to various modules and workflows
• Application On-boarding (access provisioning), End user deactivation, Configuration Management for Operations Support, Knowledge Management, Incident and Problem Management, Outage Notifications and Release Impact Analysis
• Responsible for the overall configuration, design, functionality and testing of MasterControl functions, including new product updates and releases
• Work directly with the Support teams to bring open Help Desk issues to a resolution by triage and monitoring progress. Provide Levels 3 support
• MasterControl report building to export and support offline Excel tools and spreadsheets, with extensive formulas, macros and template versions
• Work with internal Stakeholders to understand business needs and provide requirements for MasterControl and other enterprise applications
• Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation around application development, dashboards, reports, and any other functional areas as required
• Lead System Administrator for user admin, security, configuration changes, business rule changes and data migration
• Configure and maintain functional modules and objects of MasterControl
• Create and manage lifecycles, workflows, SDK Triggers, and object configuration
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards
• Customize MasterControl fields, page layouts, object types, searching, list views, etc.
• Create and maintain system interface diagrams, functional designs, and technical specifications
• Execute and deliver project deliverables following the Waterfall SDLC process for regulated IT projects
• Performs software updates and monitors system health
• Creates and maintains User and technical documentation
• Participates in established change management protocol
• Some travel may be required
Requirements of the Sr. Enterprise Application Architect
• B.S. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10 years of experience preferred mostly in product lifecycle management
• 10 years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (agile and waterfall)
• 5 years of experience as an enterprise application administrator or solution architect
• 5 years of experience in object-oriented development
• At least 3 years of experience as a systems analyst for a quality management system (QMS) like MasterControl or similar application
• Technical proficiency with Office 365
• Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organization
• Must be a team player
• Working knowledge of Veeva modules like eTMF, Vault, CTMS and MDM
• Prior experience as a solution architect or enterprise application architect for HRIS systems and Learning Management Systems
• Working knowledge of JIRA or other similar tools
• Knowledge of Veeva RIM modules like Document Management, Registration Management, Dossier Management, Application, Submission etc.
• Knowledge on other Veeva modules like Vault eTMF, Vault Promomats, etc.
• Experience in Veeva SDK Code development
• Other than Regulatory domain knowledge, having knowledge on Clinical Domain adds extra mileage
• Experience in working in Agile methodology
• Experience with SalesForce is a huge plus
• Certifications with specific enterprise applications is a huge plus
• Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry or Regulated Industry a plus
• Experience working in a production Internet facing environment a plus
