ROLE SUMMARY Pfizer has established a chief digital office which will lead the transformation of Pfizer into a digital powerhouse that will generate superior patient experiences that will result in better health outcomes. The Global PGS & Enabling Functions, Analytics Tools and Platforms team sits within Pfizer Digital, and is focused on developing advanced analytics platforms, data management services, providing business intelligence solutions, and accelerating new insights across the enterprise – from end-to-end supply chain, manufacturing, quality, to finance and HR for all Pfizer countries. One of the team’s top priorities is the development of an enterprise data lake on the cloud which will serve as the engine for the company’s digital transformation.
Pfizer is seeking an experienced Cloud Service DevOps Lead to develop, support, maintain, update and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding cloud-based systems. The DevOps Lead will have a background in cloud-based engineering, agile development, open source, automated deployment, continuous integration, data engineering and cloud infrastructure.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Director, Cloud Solution Delivery & Engineering, the Cloud Service DevOps Lead will be responsible for leading an advanced data platforms team to drive digital outcomes.
• Establish and lead a team of highly qualified resources dedicated to development and support of cloud-based business technology products and services
• Manage a system development pipeline, including prioritization, backlog, sprints, release management, burn-down, automated build and deployment
• Well versed in agile principles and able to lead software engineers in this area, and manage one or more scrum teams with ongoing work activities across
• Develop, deploy and provide continuous improvements for Microservices, containers and container orchestration systems
• Lead build/buy evaluations to meet needs of cloud applications, products and platforms
• Become an expert resource for how various parts of the cloud ecosystem work together
• Support Engineering project teams with day-to-day deployments and system utilization issues
• Maintain security best practices in DevOps processes, code and products
• Embed Continuous Improvement and automation into daily work and develop a DevOps culture in the team
• Drive the adoption of best practices around DevOps including advisory, process insights and improvements
• Establish regular communication / planning sessions with leadership across Pfizer Digital and the various business lines for support and capacity planning purposes
• Partner with and provide guidance to engineers, developers and managers throughout the product delivery lifecycle
• Establish metrics to measure the health of the DevOps team and supported services
• Work with the infrastructure and shared service organizations to procure and manage stable application platforms.
• Work in a matrix team environment with Pfizer colleagues as well as vendor partners by participating in vendor management activities
• Develop and manage relationships with multiple service providers
QUALIFICATIONS Professional Experience and Educational Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree with a preference in Technology, Math, or Engineering – or equivalent experience
• 7+ Work experience in Business Technology
• 5+ years of experience in engineering technology solutions
• 3+ years of experience in engineering cloud-based solutions, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, DBaaS
• 2+ years of experience managing a DevOps team
• Expertise in utilizing DevOps tools, for example:
• Git
• Ansible
• Jenkins
• Docker
• ELK
• SonarQube
• Expertise in utilizing multiple compute engines, for example:
• Spark
• Kafka
• Presto
• MongoDB
• Elastic
• Expertise with AWS technologies, for example:
• EKS
• Glue/Athena
• EC2
• EBS
• S3
• RDS/Aurora
• RedShift
• Expertise with CI/CD Pipeline
• Expertise in developing products and services in Microservices, modules or SaaS
• Process documentation and analysis including system specification and requirements for business processes (data, presentation, and logic)
• Excellent communication and proven success in developing operational SOPs. Knowledge of GxP and SOX compliance standards a strong plus
• Ability to build relationships across Pfizer Digital and business partners
• The mindset to define and exceed operational requirements and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure seamless support transition of Automation and AI systems to the production environment
• Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements
• Self-starter, independent worker, energetic personality with excellent collaboration skills
