Job: SQL Developer/DBA (AXC17000)
Location: will be 100% Remote until October, then some 2 to 3 days a week onsite in Tampa, FL or Coppell, Texas, or Jersey City New Jersey
Duration: 6-months + to potential to permanent
Must Have:
SQL Development experience
New SQL Database Build experience
Custom script writing (Bash or Shell or Python or PowerShell)
AWS or Azure experience

System and Database Administration:
• Design, deployment, installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL database servers for the CBS Corp Systems in both Clustered and standalone environments
• Designing and deploying the migration plan of databases from one environment to another
• Develop and/or implement timely, cost-effective, and high-quality database solutions
• Perform File system and Database space administration, propose and drive capacity planning requirements for future growth
• Configuration and maintenance of database security standards (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
• Establish and monitor sound backup and recovery policies and procedures for the databases
• Configuration of Always on Cluster
• Perform Disaster recovery drills to ensure the database availability, in-case of failures
Upgrade and Migration Activities:
• Upgrade the database servers by applying latest software upgrade patches and service packs in test and production environments
• Handle SQL server Patching project and ensure all the latest cumulative updates and service packs are tested and applied.
• Present POC and demo sessions for Cloud Migration from On premises databases to Microsoft Azure Cloud, AWS and Google Cloud Platform
• Manage instances migrated AWS EC2, RDS, Azure VM, Azure managed instance
Monitoring and Troubleshooting Activities:
• Deploy SSRS (SQL server Reporting Services) Reports per request and validate security
• Monitor SQL alerts like below using Service-now Ticketing tool, Jira ticketing tool, emails, New-relic & SCOM tools
• Disk Space, Table space and file system Utilization
• Memory, I/o and CPU bottlenecks
• HADR Alerts like, Mirroring Log shipping, Replication, Clustering and Always on
• Monitor SQL server service account password expiration and co-ordinate application downtime to implement the change
• Provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and Maintenance/enhancements for existing applications
• Database Tuning and performance monitoring which includes CPU, IO and memory bottlenecks, IOPS utilization and query optimization
• Troubleshoot Replication related issues
• Monitor Cluster events and reconfigure Cluster configuration as necessary
Automation Activities:
• Write PowerShell scripts to automate Database Refresh and cloning from Production to Non production environments using commvault backup tool
• Automate engineering tasks by writing T-SQL scripts related to Database administration tasks
• Migration of Traditional service account to use Managed service accounts.
• Automate Script deployment using Devops tool
