Swedish Match North America LLC, a manufacturer and marketer of well-known tobacco products, non-tobacco ZYN pouch products, as well as complementary products, is currently seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Manager for the Owensboro, KY facility.
Major Responsibilities:
Environmental:
• Creates, reviews, and manages environmental policies, guidelines and practices at the site to ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations and standard while incorporating industry best practices.
• Plans, organizes, and controls all environmental activities and budgets.
• Responsible for developing environmental goals, objectives and systems for the facility.
• Responsible for investigating environmental incidents, working with resources to determine root-cause and develop corrective actions.
• Coordinates all training required for compliance with environmental regulations.
• Serves as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies including Federal, State, and Local Regulatory Officials on matters related to environmental compliance.
• Manages/coordinates certification, recertification, and compliance of all environmental/regulatory accountabilities for the facility.
Sustainability:
• Manage Swedish Match's environmental strategy. Work towards delivering company commitments and reducing/negating Swedish Match's environmental impact.
• Lead the development of Science Based Targets, leveraging understanding of methods, benchmarking and measuring the impact for the US Division.
• Develop plans to deliver company Science Based Targets commitment across Scope 1, 2, and 3 of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Work across the organization to build and align plans and resources to deliver commitments.
• Ensure implementation plans are effectively managed and milestones are achieved.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, action and workplans, and resources to project completion.
• Collect data and analyze key performance metrics for environmental and social initiatives across the company.
Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in relevant field required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years experience working directly with Sustainability/Environmental.
SKILL/KNOWLEDGE: Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Well organized with excellent project management skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver results. Problem solving skills are essential. Self-directed and able to exercise initiative. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Environmental Regulations (40 CFR); Greenhouse Gas Protocol; Sustainability Reporting Index.
